Back Pack Leaf Blowers & Hand Held Leaf Blowers

The back pack leaf blowers or hand held leaf blowers are quite superb and I would go as far as to say an absolutely essential for keeping a yard, or any area where you are working with horses clean and tidy.

They take all the hard work out of cleaning and sweeping a yard. Irrespective of how 'natural' your horse keeping is, there will always be areas that need sweeping and cleaning up. These garden leaf blowers do a superb job, saving you hours of time.

There are two types on the market:-

• Backpack Leaf Blowers.
• Hand held Leaf Blowers.

Hand Held Leaf Blowers

If you have a small yard with just one or two horses, so a small area to keep clean and tidy the hand held leaf blowers will be fine.

In seconds you are able to blow clean the area that you would normally sweep, they are as they sound "hand held". You can also use the blowers in stables if there is no bedding and around windows and even gutters.

Back Pack Blowers

The backpack ones are more expensive but are worth the extra investment if you have a larger yard that needs to be kept clean. They are bigger and more efficient and sit comfortably and well supported on your back.(They are like wearing a backpack.)

It is easy to forget ones own posture when working - but these blowers due to their design are not tiring so you can clean up really well.

When you use them, most of them come with ear defenders which you will need to use.

You need to make sure that you use the recommended fuel mix and it is worthwhile having two or three fuel cans on the go so that you don't run out of fuel.

If you buy a back pack leaf blower think of it as a long term investment as the cost of these blowers mean they should last for many years, they are not throw-away items.

We have had a Stihl backpack blower now for a number of years and it has been superb.

They are expensive but well worth the investment.

Conclusion

Our Stihl back pack blower has taken all the hard work out of cleaning up. There is no more sweeping the yard at the end of the day.

So although our horses live out we still have them in the yard on a daily basis where we tack up etc. the joy of always having a lovely clean swept yard on a daily basis became possible once we bought our back pack leaf blower.
